The July 2023 monthly meeting of Civil20 (C20) Global Internet Governance, Digital Empowerment and Security Alliance (GLIDES) was held on 5th July 2023 with a distinguished address on ‘Global Enlightenment Community: From Words to Actions – The Urgency for Governmental and Civic Action’ by Mr. Tuan Nguyen, CEO of Boston Global Forum (BGF). Mr. Nguyen is also director of the Michael Dukakis Institute for Leadership and Innovation (MDI); co-founder of the AI World Society Innovation Network (AIWS.net); co-founder of AIWS City (AIWS.city), and co-author of the books, Social Contract for the AI Age and Remaking the World – Toward an Age of Global Enlightenment.
Digital Leadership Institute Belgium/EU, AFRD Georgia, CyberKid Vietnam, Internet Bolivia, Internet society chapters in India, and Kijiji Yeetu Kenya were some of the civil society organizations (CSO), who participated in this GLIDES monthly meeting. In his address, Mr. Nguyen stressed expanding partnerships and collaboration for the C20 official engagement group of G20 and its GLIDES alliance of CSOs. Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan, Coordinator; Ms. Alison Richards, International Coordinator and Dr. Prashant R. Nair, GLIDES coordinator of C20 Technology, Security, and Transparency (TST) Working Group (WG) also spoke during the GLIDES monthly meeting.
