C20 EDT Outreach Program: 3000+ Trained in Yoga and Meditation

The C20 Education and Digital Transformation conducted an outreach program to provide yoga and meditation training to schools, villagers, and soldiers in regions closer to the India-China, Nepal, and Pakistan borders. The primary objective was to promote mental and physical well-being among the participants, enhance their resilience in extreme climatic conditions, and foster a sense of unity and peace.

The training was conducted successfully in various locations, including Kargil, Leh, Dhakad, Kutti, Gunji, Kalapani, Nabhidhang, Chitkul, Sangla, Raksham, Kalpa, Kothi, Mana, and Niti in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Ladakh. These regions have challenging weather conditions, including freezing temperatures, chill winds, and heavy snowfalls with an average temperature below 0 degrees Celsius.

During a visit to Kargil, schoolchildren were requesting rides on the city’s outskirts due to the absence of public transportation. These students shared that they walk two to three hours to reach school, highlighting their significant hardships in accessing education.

According to a college teacher, the scarcity of mental and emotional issues and the absence of drug cases among the students can be attributed to their lack of free time. These students lead physically demanding lives, walking long distances daily and engaging in farm work during the early mornings and evenings.

After attending the session, a girl said, “Until now, I believed there was a world outside us. But for the first time, I realized and could connect to the world inside me.”
