Day 1 Sessions at the GED Summit

During the breakout sessions that followed the inauguration sessions at the C20 Gender Equality & Disability (GED) Working Group Summit, in Bhubaneswar, each of the 8 sub-themes put together 4 priority policy recommendations which were presented to those in attendance at the Summit.
The sub-themes included: Physical & Mental Health, Economic Empowerment & Sustainable Livelihoods, Education & Skill Development, Safety & Security, Socio-cultural Implications of Gender Inequality. Addressing Root Causes of Gender Inequality by Engaging Men & Boys, Environment & Disaster, Disability.

Experts from various organizations and government bodies reflected on the discussions held and shared their valuable input. The experts included Phoolranee Rampadarath (Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Welfare, Mauritius), Camila López Badra (Democracia Global, Argentina), Victor Novack (Soroka University Medical Center, Israel), Ekatrina Zagladina (World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, Russia), and Sruti Mohapatra (Disability rights activist, India).
